The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Director: Niels Arden Oplev

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the new film from director Niels Arden Oplev and is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Steig Larson. Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) is an extremely talented yet volatile computer hacker who teams up with disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist), to investigate the disappearance of a young woman, which eventually leads them to a series of grisly murders, of which they think are related.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a non-stop thrill ride from start to finish. It holds nothing back in its powerfully graphic delivery, and is as intelligent and stylish as some of the best films of its genre, such as Se7en or Silence of the Lambs. The performances are all fantastic; especially Noomi Rapace who plays the eccentric and brilliant hacker Lisbeth Salander. Perhaps the only letdown is its slightly repetitive soundtrack, but that can be easily overlooked.
